Naive?

I just had a weird flash of optimism. In my lifetime I've seen a man on the moon, the end of Apartheid, the fall of the Berlin Wall, peace in Northern Ireland, the collapse of the Soviet Union and the election of a black U.S. president.
Could xenophobia end just as abruptly?
Probably not. I suspect it's part of some human survival mechanism.

We're experiencing evolution!

I was just following up with what the "other" David has to say (http://davidbyrne.typepad.com). He posted an excerpt from a letter received from Senegal, praising our choice of leader...
"Rosa sat so Martin could walk. Martin walked so Barack could run. Barack ran so our children can fly.”

Our choice of Obama was not one based on color, rather we chose regardless of color.
